Computer Network And Telecommunication
Weightage: 11 Marks · Unit 1CDC High YieldNetwork types and architectures, topologies, transmission media, connectors, network devices, and telecommunication terms.
10 chapters · CDC Syllabus 2081/2082 · 150 Solved Model Questions · 50 Marks Preparation Guide
Class 10 Computer Science is an elective, but the questions are not guesswork: the paper follows the syllabus closely and rewards students who have actually written code rather than only read about it. These notes therefore treat the six Python chapters as the centre of the subject, because Python carries the most marks. The chapters move deliberately from basics through user-defined functions, modules and packages, error handling, file handling, and data visualisation, so each one builds on the last instead of restarting from hello world. The algorithms and syntax are shown in full, and where a line has a specific purpose it is explained rather than assumed.
Network and telecommunication covers how data actually travels between machines, and the database management system chapter covers relational modelling with normalisation and SQL, which is examined directly. Multimedia technology covers the file formats, compression and tools behind images, audio and video. The final chapter on contemporary technologies introduces artificial intelligence and robotics at the level the syllabus expects, including where each is used and what its limitations are. Every chapter includes solved questions with the code and the explanation of the code, so a wrong answer can be traced back to a specific line rather than a general feeling that Python is difficult.
Network types and architectures, topologies, transmission media, connectors, network devices, and telecommunication terms.
DBMS concepts, data types, tables, queries, forms, reports, relationships, primary keys, and RDBMS.
Multimedia components, image/sound/video file formats, color models, and authoring tools.

Official 50-mark question-paper duration
≈ 5 periods per week across the grade 10 year
The specification grid divides the 50-mark written question paper into Multiple Choice, Short, and Long questions across five units:
| Question Category | Marks per Question | No. of Questions | Total Marks | Domain Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) | 1 Mark | 10 | 10 Marks | Knowledge and Recall |
| Short Question (SQ) | 2 Marks | 10 | 20 Marks | Understanding and Application |
| Long Question (LQ) | 4 Marks | 5 | 20 Marks | Application & Higher Ability |
| TOTAL | 25 Questions | 50 Marks |
Each unit targets a fixed mix of MCQ, Short, and Long questions. Python and AI units dominate the Short questions; every unit contributes exactly one Long question except the network unit's single Long construction.
| Unit | MCQ (1 Mark) | Short (2 Marks) | Long (4 Marks) | Total Questions | Unit Marks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Computer Network and Communication | 3 | 2 | 1 | 6 | 11 |
| 2. Database Management System | 2 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 8 |
| 3. Multimedia | 2 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 8 |
| 4. Programming in Python | 2 | 3 | 1 | 6 | 12 |
| 5. AI and Contemporary Technologies | 1 | 3 | 1 | 5 | 11 |
| TOTAL | 10 | 10 | 5 | 25 | 50 |
