About these Science and Technology notes

The Class 10 SEE Science and Technology paper mixes physics, chemistry, biology and a little of information technology, and it is not unusual to lose marks in a topic you did not realise was on the paper. These notes therefore run the whole nineteen-chapter syllabus in order rather than grouping the subject by strand, so nothing is hidden. The early chapters cover scientific study and experiment, classification of living beings, the honey bee as a worked example of colony organisation, heredity, and blood circulation and life processes. The middle of the syllabus is the physical science block: motion and force, pressure, heat, waves with refraction, lenses and the human eye, electricity and magnetism, and the universe. The chemistry chapters follow, covering classification of elements, chemical reactions, gases, metals and non-metals, hydrocarbons and their compounds, and the chemicals used in daily life.

The final chapter on information and communication technology is examined directly, so it is not treated as an optional extra. Wherever a process needs a sequence, the sequence is written out in order, because exam answers on topics like blood circulation or chemical change are marked step by step. Diagrams are described in words and figures wherever the shape of the system carries meaning. Each chapter ends with solved SEE questions so you can compare a model answer with your own attempt.
